10.13.99 ...Easy targets of the student-drawn comic strips are each other. Unfortunately, these "comic wars" usually simply insult the other artists' drawing ability or sense of humor. No one provoked this "attack," but it was fun to mess around with just about everything on the Comics Page. I'll explain the references to other strips along the way.

10.20.99 ...Ch'von was from Kevin Bostic's "Paradigm Shift." He appeared more than once in Second Nature because he was such a cool character with his flaming head and controversial attitude.

10.25.99 ...Dan Wong's "Iced Ink" was well drawn, hence "Realistic Iced Ink Guy." Usually that comic was framed with an "Iced Ink Presents" caption, which is used as a weapon here. Losing to Archie...that's rough.

10.26.99 ...Kevin Sheehan and Patrick Richards' "Adventures of Johnny Fu" was a kung-fu parody. Matt Oliver's "Crazy Eskimo" was one huge story about a lost eskimo who shouts "Nyar" and carries a big spear everywhere.

10.27.99 ...Ch'von goes up against Rob Iracane and Keith Moores' "Captain Justice And The Bear," a really outrageous comic that had everything from maul threats to the Golden Girls.

10.28.99 ..."Pac-Man Fever" was no longer in the paper but I just couldn't let Dilbert or Huey (from "The Boondocks") win. I am not a very big fan of most currently syndicated comic strips.

10.29.99 ...nothing on the Comics Page was safe from the Halloween Rumble.
